    Short Bio: Haibin Ling received B.S. and M.S. from Peking University in 1997 and 2000, respectively, and Ph.D. from the University of Maryland in Computer Science in 2006. From 2000 to 2001, he was an assistant researcher at Microsoft Research Asia. From 2006 to 2007, he worked as a postdoctoral scientist at UCLA. He then joined Siemens Corporate Research as a research scientist. Since fall 2008, he has been an Assistant Professor at Temple University. Dr. Ling's research interests include computer vision, medical image analysis, human computer interaction, and machine learning.

  • Aug 15, 2009: Received a three year NSF grant (as coPI) on "Modeling, Detection, and Analysis of Branching Structures in Medical Imaging".
  • Jun 20, 2009: One paper accepted by MICCAI'09.
  • Jun 10, 2009: Three papers accepted by ICCV'09.
  • May 9, 2009: The Electronic Field Guide project is reported by New York Times, CNN Technology, and CNN SciTech Bolg.
  • Apr 2, 2009: One paper accepted by CVPR'09.
